1971. 9. Founded KST - elected professor Joo Yo-sup as the first president
1972. 8. Registered with the Ministry of Culture and Public Information (Registered No.313)
1974. 3. Joined in International Federation of Translators (FIT: an official consultative body of UNESCO)
1981. 5. President Gonie Bang elected as a FIT Council member at the 8th FIT World Congress ( in Poland)
1982. 3. Held FIT Council meeting in Seoul
10. Held the first Korea Translation Literary Prize awarding ceremony
1987. 5. Established and cosponsored the International Translation Encouragement Prize to New Figures with Babel, Japan
1988. 8. Held the 54th International PEN meeting in cooperation with the subcommittee Ⅲ (Translation section)
1994. 9. Held the first Translation Competence Test
1995. 7. Attended the first Asian Translators' Forum ( in Beijing)
1996. 2. Vice-president Suk yong-young elected as a FIT Council member at the 14th FIT World Congress ( in Australia)
9. Held the third Seminar; registered for the publication of KST's bulletin
